KATY (Kasia Kochanska) born in Lublin-Poland, came across ballroom dancing for the first time when she was 13. The harmonious motion of the body to the rhythm of the music and surrendering oneself completely to the music entirely captivated Katy and quickly made her a ballroom dance competition dancer.   

     Her dance fascination also spread out to dance fashion and had its result in many designs of original dresses. Katy while dancing and studying at ZSOW in Lublin, also took up a job in a dance atelier where she was perfecting her skills in creating dance costumes.

     After graduating she opened her own design and tailor studio for dancers where both amateur and juvenile dance couples were dressed. She was also a designer of many costumes for Polish  Latin Formation Dance champions "Takt" from Chelm. Katy also participated and was awarded in fashion shows such as "Prowokacje" and "Zloty Wieszak". 

     In 1998 Katy went to Japan where she was quickly applauded both as a designer and a dancer by Asian dancers. Later Katarzyna became a professional ballroom dancer (licenced dance instructor in JBDF) and while taking part in dance shows and competitions she was running her own design studio where she was designing dresses for dance shows and competitions to the music of customers' choice. Both amateur and professional dance couples are among her customers. 

     Her nearly 30 year long experience let her study the movement of the dress during dancing and therefore made her an expert in choosing the right fabrics and accessories compatible with the requirements and style of the dance.

     She takes her inspiration from dance music and from dance itself. Her designs are sometimes a spontaneous result of arranging the fabric on a mannequin or an attempt to send a message.

     Since 2012 twice a year Kasia is also designing and making costumes for Youth Action's stage shows, both musicals and Panto.

     Sewing Me - sewing classes have been around since February 2018 and they brings Kasia lots of satisfaction from teaching and sharing her passion.
